The eventful history
of the Hotel Wisenegg
The Tauernhospiz was founded in 1130 as a hostel for noblemen and travelers. Although it has been restored and modernized several times, it has retained its historic charm. Famous guests include Archbishop Wolf Dietrich in 1611 and Emperor Franz in 1807.
Located at the beginning of the village of Obertauern in Austria near the World Cup cross-country ski trail, the hotel is easily accessible via the main roads. Ski lifts and other winter activities are within walking distance.
